Roots Gymnasium is bursting with pride as our very own star athlete, Miheshco Mouton (U/16), takes on the continent’s best at the African Athletics Championships (CAA) in Abeokuta, Nigeria, from 16–20 July 2025.
Miheshco earned his spot on Team Namibia’s U/18 squad after delivering a spectacular performance at the Khomas Championships, where he shattered his personal bests in both the 100m (10.70 sec) and 200m (21.63 sec) sprints. His relentless dedication, work ethic, and talent have secured him a place among Africa’s elite junior sprinters despite still being under 16!
On Wednesday, 16 July, Miheshco proudly lined up in the U/18 men's 100m heat. Against older and more experienced athletes, he delivered a strong race, finishing 5th in his heat. A remarkable achievement considering the level of competition and his age group. Though he did not progress to the finals, his performance earned admiration and respect.
But the championship is not over yet! Miheshco will return to the track on Saturday, 19 July, competing in the U/18 men’s 200m heat at 11:10 (Namibian time). All eyes will be on this rising star as he continues to represent Roots Gymnasium and Namibia with pride and courage.

Well done, Miheshco! You are a true ambassador of excellence. Keep chasing your dreams. We’re behind you all the way!
